In a world where high-end headphones have gone from simple listening device to status symbol, the packaging for these now multi-hundred-dollar units has gone over-the-top and are probably some of the most over-packaged consumer items on any store shelves. Sennheiser, a leader in the industry and a favorite of cost-conscious audiophiles and music nerds, intends to reverse this trend, opting to grab eyeballs with minimal, user-focused, plastic-free packaging. Using simple line illustrations and straightforward typography, the packaging is meant to remind buyers of blueprints and technical drawings.
